Training

At HPC we believe that the happiness and companionship we get from our pets is immeasurable when there is continued love communicated between us. For this harmony it is important that we are educated on understanding our dogs’ behavior and our dogs are properly trained.

All dog training should be fun, highly motivational and stress free.  In a loving manner, we instruct your dog to think for himself, thereby leading him to seek your approval rather than just your attention. We offer both group classes and private lessons.

                How to Register

Private Lessons

Before any private training program is developed, a Behavior Consultation Form is required. Please printout and fill out before your consulation.

If the classroom setting isn't right for you, try private one-on-one training. Our qualified staff can help you deal with specific behavior problems like housetraining, destruction, stealing, and more. Our team has developed some exciting behavior modification programs to help owners deal with more serious problems such as aggression, separation anxiety, and fear. Hourly rates vary depending on the type of behavior problem and whether we meet at the training center or your home.  Private lessons generally focus in on the following areas.

PUPPY KINDERGARTENGeared to our younger students, this program targets Housebreaking, Proper Playing, Excessive Whining, Biting and Nipping, Destructive Chewing, Teaching, Correcting, and Basic Commands

BEHAVIOR MODIFICATIONTo eliminate those bad habits such as Jumping on People, Pulling on Leash, Not Listening, Stealing Food/Begging, Excessive Barking, and Running Away.

OBEDIENCE TRAININGThis instructional program teaches commands such as Come, Sit, Stay, Heel, Down, and Go “to place”.

BEHAVIOR COUNSELING “ A THERAPEUTIC APPROACH ” - Having a specific problem? A consultation is a good place to start. During a consultation, we will diagnose what may be causing the problem and pull together a training program to address it. Consultations are conducted at HPC and usually last approximately 1 hour.

MOVIE TRICKSDoes your dog like the spotlight?  If so, let’s register your pet with a professional animal casting agency, “Paws for Effect”.  We will teach your dog the basic tricks that can help them land a role in a movie, TV ad, or photo shoot.  Please ask for details.
